Carls been busy making Moore Park an attractive place to ride. He has some great ideas and with the proper support we are gonna have an excellent place to ride locally. Here's a drawing and pics of the additions he's currently making.

Nice, how big is the expansion? How big is that track?

six fiddy
10-07-2009, 09:50 PM
the track was a quarter mile track and we added about 300 feet to it; i have a feeling the new renovation will make the track feel like it is twice as long; it should have much better flow and a better rhythum to it

Carl, Badgers bike is almost ready. We got it lowered and shaved the seat. It's just about right for him. Can't wait to get back to Moore Park. If we could just get them to let us camp onsite......

talking about my buddy darrell he was in lafayette last weekend and told me he was gonna get one of his bikes ready for mini moto; he has a xr250 honda and a kx125 kawasaki two stroke; he is in the process of motarding one of them; so he will be able to participate also ;

Carl, is Eric out? You taking over the track? If so, we really need to start promoting the hell of of this thing?

six fiddy
10-07-2009, 10:39 PM
yes unfortunately eric had to give up running the track; hes done a great job with the track; i will be assisting chris burchfield and anthony harwin the go kart guy with running the track; i think if we added on to the track like some of the diagrams you saw it would make it into one hell of a track; i am willing to get the work done i just need a little help on the financial end of it; with the donations of work and all we got the last addition to the track done for about 35 dollars a running foot; which means we could add 500ft of track for about 17;000 dollars; you cant buy a pickup truck for that price and it would make a huge difference in the track; i talked to the park and recreation superintendent and he gave us the okay for all the plans that you saw in the drawings; he just didnt give us the money; if we had someone or a couple of three people to put up the money we could get the track added on to and from track revenue pay them back hopefully in maybe 3 years; so it wouldnt be a donation it would be more of a loan; and if someone were interested in loaning us the money that could probably get them a lifetime memembership to the track plus getting their money back;

dont all volunteer to put up the 17;000 dollars all at once; yall are overloading the internet connections

six fiddy
10-07-2009, 11:20 PM
oh and by the way all of the renovations that we are currently doing are being paid for by the mini moto and the go kart track funds; so bring youre friends out when yall come out to ride and hopefully we can do more additions in the near future

six fiddy
10-07-2009, 11:23 PM
by the way all the money collected for yearly memberships and the 25dollar a day trackday fee go back into the track; hopefully some of these renovations make us feel better about paying the memberships and trackday fees;

Hmm... $200 worth of slicks on a 21"-18" rim combo... (KLX450 - Boy, would a set of 17" rims be nice.....). $25/day track fee...

TONS OF MOTARD FUN..........

Sounds like a winner!!!

great badger; come on out and you can ride the 150; it seemed that you took to riding it in no time at all; you were up to pace and riding with good rhythum; those drz 400s are some great bikes; looking forward to riding with yall in the near future

went out to mpr today and started taking off the forms from the cement work; brought my house washer and also cleaned the track; was able to make a few laps on the track though it was wet and had a lot of dirt and dust on it from the addition to the track;boy it sure seemed to ride great had a good rhythum and pretty good traction considering; looking forward to running the track dry if it ever stops raining

Sounds good Carl, thanks for your good/hard work. I can't wait to ride it.

went out to the track this morning and fininished picking up the forms; the track is now ready to ride ; after awhile the track finally dried up and i was able to ride the track in clean and dry conditions; new design track record is 31.26 ; old track record was 27.4 seconds about 4 seconds different; even though with the new track you are carrying more speed throughout the track; the new track really is enjoyable to ride and the concrete seemed to have very good traction; the new section through the kink on the track made a huge difference in those 3 turns; i think you guys are really gonna like it; oh and talking about backing it in when you run the track counterclockwise going down the back straight is awesome for backing it in

did ya find yaself a tire sponsor yet. That new cement oughta be taking the rubber off, like an eraser on a piece-a-sandpaper.

okay guys heres the plan ; if you go to the second diagram of the track called ultimate plan by chopt; i was able to take a accurate measurement and it came out to 1000ft; that means that we could be riding this track configuration in two weeks from now; the cost of the new track addition would be 35000dollars; we are looking for 10 donations of 3500dollars each; in appreciation of youre donation you would receive a lifetime membership to the track for you and youre immediate family ;kids under 18 years old; my name is first on the list; if interested post up or if you have any questions;by the way anthony the go kart guy has also agreeded on the 3500; so only 8 more donations to go; lets ride ; ps i think if you look at the diagram you will realize this would be a exceptional track to ride ; id appreciate youre consideration for this donation

dont put yourself in a bind just throwing it out there; i just got back from the track we moved the fence and i was working on designing the dirt section or the next planned concrete section; i borrowed my buddy xr100 with knobbies on it ; i just had a blast ; didnt stop riding till i couldnt see anymore; i dont think we are gonna want to concrete the next 900ft of track after yall get a chance to ride it dirt; i rode it today still grass and ive changed my mind about the concrete; i think we ought to leave it just like that; half dirt and half asphalt ; supermotard

Although I hadn't ridden it yet, leaving it dirt sounds like a blast. I vote for leaving it dirt. Maybe Round-up the section and let us do the rest. wooohooo.

i just got back from the track ; we were able to rent a machine that cuts the grass right at the top of the dirt and we rented a tractor with a front end loader and a box scraper ; we made a change to the new turn that i think everyone will enjoy the turn much better it took about 3yards of cement; we took the front end loader and scraped up the cut grass and put it around the track to help alleviate the 4 to 6 inch drop off we had with the new blacktop;all in all things are headed in the right direction; really disappointed with the rain tommorrow could have got a lot more done while it was dry;hope the dirt section is dry for sunday but if not we still have the new 300ft of concrete section to play on
