I saw the lady turning right onto dawnadele dr from airline... I was gonna try an go around her, but she made a wide turn... skidded into the back of her going about 20 or 30, I flew over her car, and landed on airline about 20 ft from my bike...

I was on my feet hoping around a few seconds after landing. hopped back over to my bike and sat on it to collect my thoughts. people were starring at me, a few people pulled over to help, that was nice. They were like "i think you should lay down or something, you just did like 3 flips in the air and landed on the road"

next thing i did was put the bike up on the kickstand... naturally

A guy helped me over to the bed of a truck that was close by, and there i layed till i left...

Fire truck was there in about 4 minutes!! then cops... EMS about 10 minutes after the fire truck...

from what I could tell I was ok... my shoe flew off at some point? (found it about 30 ft from the bike)

EMS wanted to bring me to the ER but i was like "naw, I'm alright my friends on his way with a truck to load up my bike, then ill go to the ER later"

So later that evening i went to the Earl... took 6 hours to find out the tip of my big toe is fractured... Right foot was scuffed up pretty bad but ill be ok. both ankles were hurting pretty bad, seems that i landed on my feet :)

Oh, and Xray revealed that, apparently I've had a copper BB lodged in my left hand for about 7 years now that i didn't know about...

This happened last Friday about noon, and now, a week later, Im walking almost like normal, just waiting on the top of my foot to heal so i can put a shoe on...

All in all I think i got pretty lucky! It could have been A LOT worse!!

Its short now :)

Thanks yall.

Im hoping all i need is a new triple tree clamp?

I got the top half on ebay for $40, and auction for the bottom with a new stem ends in 2 days... Mechanically it looks like that's all I'll need!!

the "throat" part of the frame, where the front end attaches, looks like it may be bent in like 1 degree, but i dont think thats gonna be a problem?

Those forks have got to be tweeked?

I dont know... i pushed both of them down individually and they seemed to go up and down fully with no trouble... How can i tell??

When i wrecked i hit her straight on, and was breaking pretty hard so they were probably close to being bottomed out when i hit...

Im thinking they didnt get bent much, if any??

Glad you are okay - I'd put the state lottery on - looking at the impact the front of the bike took you are very lucky ;o)

Sorry to hear this, I'm glad you're ok. As always, "it coulda been worse". Since you're planning on riding it again, go over the whole bike. Check for any cracks on ALL the welds, check your motor mounts, etc. An impact creates alot of force, the old saying that once a bike's been down it's cursed. Not so, just make sure nothings tweak'd and don't ignore any signs once you start riding it again.

I wear waterproof steel toe work boots. I like to walk as well as ride. I wear Ariat but there are lots of good work boots. If they are a hundred dollars or better they are good boots.
