traded my dr650

well i traded my 03dr650 with supermotard wheels for a 03wr250 plus 600dollars; the yzf450 is wearing out my old behind out on the gokart track ; and the 450 is a handfull on the dirt section; i'm thinking the wr250 will have enough power and a smoother power delivery to make it more enjoyable on the asphalt part of the track and a lot more predictable on the dirt section of the track ; we'll see if i made the right choice; by the way he has it street legal so i can ride the street with it also; i'd email pics but thats a little to high tech for me

nope gonna sell it and try to get the old lady off my behind; hopefully the wr250 will take care of the gokart track for the 450 and the street and gravel road riding for the dr650; fingers crossed

yeah, it's got a wide ratio transmission that will be nice on the street. you can run tall gearing on the street if you think you'll need a higher cruising speed, and the first should still be low enough to putt around and whatnot.

Carl gearing will give you the options you're looking for, it'll also be less tyring on the track plus you'll turn close to if not the same times as the 450. Don't worry about keeping up with the group in the Mountains, I'm street'n the YZ, 4 speed for the trip I'm sure if they wanna run high speeds I ain't gonna be able to stay wit-em either. Then we'll end the day by telling em, they misse'd-out.

hey tyler you think the dna supermoto rims that are on the 450 will fit on the wr250; got my fingers crossed ; got back to late to try them on gonna find out tommorrow

i'm not sure about interchangeability on the yamaha bikes. it's possible. can't hurt to try.

well started swapping out the supermoto wheels off the 450 on to the 250; the back wheel fit like a glove; now the front wheel has a odometer so i abandoned the odometer and just put the spacer off the 450; looks like its gonna work just ran out of light before i could get the caliper on; but i think its gonna work; that sure is a lot easier than respoking the 250 hubs

supermoto wheels fit fine; another small problem i had was when you open the throttle quick the engine would stall then catch; took the carbeurator off and it was gummed up quite a bit ; cleaned the jets and carb and it helped a lot; still doing it a little if you open the throttle up real fast it will balk then take off; anyone know if that is normall or what the problem might be on a yamaha wr250; a friend said it might be a torn bladder in the accelerator pump; it has a flat slide carb

get the boyeson quick shot, and then get the JD jetting Red Beard Mod. that should take care of it.

it's the accelerator pump cover. on my CRF450X i had, that, along with the JD Jetting Red Beard Mod completely got rid of the problem you are having.
