Spent the day doing some upgrades to the V-Strom
I installed HID headlights which came from here (http://www.tophidkits.com/6000khidkits.html) As cheap as they are I was a little skeptical but I figured I would give them a try. I can say without a doubt there is a hell of a difference in brightness. These are way brighter or on the surface appears to be much brighter. The high beam is a standard halogen bulb. I don't like that switching from high to low the HID turns off and the halogen turns on. I am going to see if i can bypass or modify the system so on high everything stays on.
I also installed a set of heated hand grips from here (http://www.symtec-inc.com/Complete-Motorcycle-Hand-Warmer-Kit-w-Round-Rocker-Switch_p_89.html) These puppies are hot! It appears to not use much power as the fuse requirement is 5 amp. They have a high low setting and high is almost too hot, but I'll bet in 20 degree temps they will be saweet.
A couple weeks ago I installed a OEM Suzuki Gel seat for the V. What a difference that makes. I find it to be a huge difference in comfort over the stock seat.
So...that was my Saturday.
