Hurrican Ride

We are thinking about going ride through NO to Gulfport this saturday. Anybody know if the Hwy 90 bridge is open? The one at the Rigalees (is that spelled right?)

Rigolets is still out; I heard sometime in MAY it's supposed to be opened back up. I tried riding out that way a couple weekends ago, I think the Chef Bridge is open but not the Rigolets (or it could be the other way around either way you ain't gettin through).

DOTD officials hope to have the Chef Pass bridge open by August, 2006. Stability issues with the surrounding soil has further delayed the original April 15th deadline. According to DOTD officials, the contractor is getting materials together to start on the project of replacing the slabs approaching the bridge. The bridge suffered structural damage during the storm and parts of Hwy 90 also washed away from Hurricane Katrina.
