Ride - uh, and Drive Report
So Friday I had ½ day off and went by the Buell Dealership to pick up my free hat (that’s another story, see www.buell.com and get your own :p ) and I see another Buell brother loading up his bike after service and getting ready to head back home to Miss. So he asks about a good place to eat so I ask if he’d ever been to The Cabin Restaurant (www.thecabinrestaurant.com) on 44 in Burnside.

So Bobby unloads that beautiful blue ‘99 M2 Cyclone of his and we take off I-10 East to 44. When we arrive, two Gold Wingers and one ST1100 are just leaving. Good food, beautiful sunny day, cool temps and two blue Buells swing down to River Road to take a peek at the Houmas House (www.houmashouse.com).

Then we blast down River Road back North and I make the mistake of hitting 73 during school dismissal time. Well, we’re not in that big a hurry so it’s back to the Dealership and both of us are sorry that neither of us had a camera, but Bobby says he’ll be back and bring his wife. Speaking of… when I tell this story to my wife, she says “Aw, I wanna go!” So, today my wife, my son and me pile into the Explorer and it’s back to The Cabin. Beautiful cool sunny day, bikes everywhere and we do have a great meal (I just can’t seem to get past the Crab AuGratin to try anything else) Well, when we are leaving, the parking lot is overtaken with bikes; and this time I DID bring the camera!

I guess the Katoom wins the “Rode the furthest to get here” award…

So if you’ve never been to the Cabin and The Houmas House,
they’re both a great adventure!
Oh, and make sure to bring your camera;)
