Down to four weeks as of tomorrow morning!!! My cross continent trip is still balancing on the edge of a few circumstances that will hopefully work themselves out here in the near future. The GS has developed a knock in the right side cylinder that was reminiscent to the old 1150's, but has been pretty much unheard of in the 1200's. Pending it's nothing major and the mechanics at Heberts can have it ironed out within the next few weeks, the adventure that I've been planning for the last 3 years will finally be underway.
I'm planning to leave Houma early on May 31st and meet up with Nick somewhere along I-10. He and I are going to slab it down to Orlando for dinner and a short hello with my little sister, Theresa, down there. On Friday, June 1st we'll roll on down to Key West where I'll get my witness signatures and the picture at the bottom of the world to officially start the beginning of the Iron Butt Ultimate Coast to Coast! I'll have 30 days to ride to Deadhorse, Alaska from that point on. We'll ride north from Key West as far as possible with what we have left of the day. On Saturday, we're going to try and make it to the T.W.O. campground in Suches, Georgia and spend the night on the grounds there. I'm thinking that on Sunday I'm going to start heading northwest for Missouri, but how far I make it is going to depend greatly on weather and circumstances. At some point Nick is going to peel off and head back south since he has the J.O.B. to be back for on Tuesday.
I'm just posting up to see if anyone else would like to accompany us on this superslab blast down and up the southeast US. I don't plan on doing any backroads or sightseeing for I'm limited to six weeks for the entire cross continent ride and who in their right mind would want to keep ALASKA waiting???? LOL.
Let's ride!![]()

Lucky SOB!
